Justify’s victory over Bolt d’Oro in the Santa Anita Derby has led to big changes in the Derby Day Racing top 10 rankings for Kentucky Derby 2018. The Bob Baffert trainee maintained his perfect three-race record and for the first time moved to the top spot in our poll.

For his performance in California, Justify received the highest speed ratings on the Kentucky Derby trail this year, but he did not get all of the number one votes from the DDR staff. Mendelssohn received a first-place vote from Brian Zipse and Audible got the nod from Matt Shifman.

With the Run for the Roses just over three weeks away, recent victories on the Derby trail became a significant factor in the voting causing Bolt d’Oro to slide from the top spot down to fifth. Big wins by Mendelssohn, Audible, and Justify sparked their rise in the rankings.
