It’s NFL Conference Championship time!

Our second week of selecting games gave us our first loss as the Chiefs dominated the Colts, but the Rams covered the spread in their win and we went 1-1 on the weekend. We’re 3-1 thus far in our sports betting selections this year.

This Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs will battle the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship while the New Orleans Saints will square off against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship with a Super Bowl berth hanging in the balance.

This week I’m going to focus on only one game.

While many bettors will focus on the flashy Patriots vs. Chiefs match-up, I have declined to handicap this game based on the predicted weather forecast in Kansas City and the other unknowns involving that game.

Instead, I’m placing my focus on the NFC and the “Big Easy”, where the hometown Saints will take on the Rams. The Saints are a mere three-point favorite in a battle between two teams that have dominated the conference all year.

The Rams are coming into the game off of an eight-point win at home over the Cowboys.

The Saints come into the game after squeaking out a six-point win last week over last year’s Super Bowl champs, the Philadelphia Eagles.

When the Saints and Rams squared off in the Super Dome earlier this season, the Saints prevailed 45-35.

I’m not going to dive deep into analytics, but the Saints are 6-0 at home in the playoffs. They have weapons, they’re well coached, and their defense has shown the ability to rush the passer. The Rams’ quarterback, Jared Goff, will pick you apart if he has time, but he is not mobile and, when pressured, he’s proven to be below average.

With that said, I am taking to the Saints -3 to stamp their ticket to Atlanta to vie for a Super Bowl Championship.

Good luck to you all!
