After a successful score last week with Clemson in the NCAA National Championship game, my attention is now focused on two of the four NFL divisional round playoff games this weekend: the Indianapolis Colts versus the Kansas City Chiefs and the Dallas Cowboys versus the Los Angeles Rams.

First, the Colts will invade Kansas City to square off with the number one seed in the AFC. The Chiefs are -5 on the spread and -225 on the money line. The Colts are +175 and coming into the game as one of the hottest teams in the league, winning 10 of their last 11 games.

Call me biased as a life-long fan, but I love the Colts in this game. Playoff games and championships are won in the trenches and the Colts have the number one-ranked offensive line in the league, giving up a league-low of 18 sacks. Andrew Luck will have all day to find his favorite targets, T.Y. Hilton and Eric Ebron, as they go up against one of the worst passing defenses in the league. The Chiefs have given up 273.4 passing yards per game and have given up a league-high of 65 passing plays of 20 yards or more. The Colts have never lost to the Chiefs in the playoffs (4-0) and the last time Kansas City won a home playoff game Joe Montana was under center.  I’m taking Indy +5 against the Chiefs.

Next, the Cowboys will travel to Los Angeles where the Rams are -6 ½ favorites on the spread and -325 on the money line. Dallas comes into the game with a lot of hype and a very good defense, but with Jared Goff and the Rams’ explosive offensive having the home field advantage, I think the Cowboys will be in for a long day.

The problem the Cowboys have is at quarterback. Dak Prescott is like Tim Tebow 2.0. Prescott and the Cowboys are ranked 22 in the league for points scored, whereas Goff and the Rams are ranked 2. I trust the Rams’ dynamic playmakers Todd Gurley, Robert Woods, and Brandin Cooks to make enough big plays to push the Rams well past that – 6 ½ line.

To recap, I plan to continue my winning streak this week by taking the Colts +5 and the Rams -6 ½. Good luck with your plays this weekend!
