The horse racing bug bit Scott later in life than most. Not born into the racing culture but merely adopted, Scott found his passion for the sport in 2003 as the “gutsy gelding” Funny Cide made his Triple Crown attempt. After experiencing that exciting campaign Scott made his first trip to a race track, his local track Indiana Downs. A Ten dollar win bet on an Indiana Bred named Apollonea led to a 12/1 victory and a race fan for life.
Since 2003 Scott has been a horse racing fanatic. The daily racing form became his bible and social media led to great friendships in the sport. Scott has become an expert on pedigree which has led to some big scores. Since 2011 Scott has covered Indiana Racing as a blogger for Horse Racing Nation. Scott has had the privilege of covering such exciting races as the Belmont Stakes, the Arlington Million, and the Breeders’ Cup Classic. He’s also worked as a pedigree analyst for a few Kentucky Derby betting guides.
You can typically find Scott on the rail at Indiana Grand or at any race track in the Midwest. Scott resides in Indianapolis, IN. He looks to bring his background in marketing and his love of horses and people to the Derby Day Racing team.
