Tony Bada Bing has been smitten with horse racing since his father called him from a payphone (remember those) outside Saratoga Race Course before the 1981 Travers Stakes, asking, “Who do you like?” With a love of anything jockey Eddie Maple rode, he quickly said, “Willow Hour.” Returning $52 on a $2 win bet, Tony was just 13 and had a pocketful of money to burn.
Tony’s passion for horse racing has taken him from Santa Anita to Royal Ascot and many tracks in between. For 25 consecutive years he’s made an annual trip to Saratoga, where he hit an incredible five, Pick 5s last summer.
An educator by trade, Tony has blogged at Horse Racing Nation since 2013 and has recently started creating multi-race wagering videos. A jack-of-all-trades, he will assist Derby Day Racing with communication, commentary and handicapping.
